Plastic, plastic everywhere…
the most obvious impact on our oceans we have are that we pollute them. pollution is now visual as giant patches of floating plastics.
Scientists recently investigated the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre, known as the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch", and found an a alarming amount of garbage. The eastern section of the spiralling mass, between Hawaii and California, is estimated to be around twice the size of Texas, and is having ecosystem-wide impacts,

even though oil spills from tankers is only 7.7% of the oil that ends up in our oceans, rather than the oil the clean up and prevention methods after the fact are what affect the enviroment deeply.
